Provincial's Message

We, the Vincentians (VC) are very happy to welcome you to our Apostolate. We are indebted to all our benefactors who wholeheartedly Support us through their prayers and financial support.

We are grateful to you for sparing your valuable time to know about us and all our activities. Vincentian Congregation is a clerical society of the Pontifical Right belonging to the Syro-Malabar Major Archiepiscopal Church in the Catholic fold. Very Rev. Fr. Varkey Kattarath founded this community in 1904 at Thottakom in the State of Kerala, India. It consists of priests and brothers who are primarily Committed to the cause of evangelization of people especially the poor. This ministry is carried out primarily by the preaching of the Word of God through Popular Missions, Bible Conventions, Residential Retreat Programmes, through charitable and social activities, educational and other pastoral ministries and through print and visual media like Divine Vision and Television channels.

The Congregation draws its spirit and distinctive character from the Life and works of St. Vincent de Paul who is chosen as its Patron Saint. Its members, known as Vincentians, lead a life of prayer and do Apostolic services for the uplift of the poor and the marginalized. The Congregation is divided into three provinces with specific territories in view of better administration and future expansion of ministries. Marymatha Province is one of the three divisions and it has its provincial house at Angamaly in the state of Kerala, India. The Priests and brothers of the Marymatha Province are doing their apostolic Activities in various states of India (Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra, Faridabad, Delhi, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Assam), East Africa (Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda), Peru, United States of America, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Austria, Liechtenstein, Italy, New Zealand, and Switzerland. they are Fully ant totally committed and dedicated their life to accomplish the Mission of Jesus Christ entrusted to the congregation.

Vincentian Congregation needs young men who are ready to lead a Religious and spiritual life and to continue the Mission of Jesus Christ. Young men are cordially invited to join the Congregation and to Become religious and missionary priests, committing themselves to God in Prayer, and ministering all people of God in love and service through Popular Mission and Retreats, Education, Missionary works, Social and Charitable activities, and other Audio-Visual Media.

About Us

The Marymatha (Mother of God) Province of the Vincentian Congregation has 332 professed members (238 priests, one brother, 93 Scholastics), 11 novices and 81 minor seminarians. We are blessed with sufficient number of vocations. This year itself 43 young men joined our Minor Seminary. Our priests work in the states of Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Goa and Delhi in India and in different dioceses in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda in Africa.
